Is Tiger Woods return to the game of golf that significant?
I think so. I will be the first to admit that I am a casual golf fan. It only becomes a must watch when Tiger is in the hunt. My wife who is worst than me only knows one name. It is like when Michael was playing, she see only watched to see him play. So this past weekend she was a golf fan again. So for me his return was significant.
Kobe got the same reaction when he messed up by summer it will all be old news.
I would think it would be, he is an icon, one of the greatest players ever. Being that the media loves drama, he is the perfect candidate. Tiger Woods is definitely something to talk about.
Definitely. If you read the hub Eye of the Tiger by ace1584, you will get an indepth picture of just what Tiger has meant to the game. TV ratings spike when Tiger is in contention on a Sunday.
Only if he can be competitive. I only watch when he's playing. Not sure that he can re-capture any of his glorious game though.
Well, I think Tiger is the man who makes golf popular among non watchers and the world in general. So he is good for the game in whatever way! And if he plays well then that's just cherry on the cake.

I felt like this weekend's US Open I was watching a renewed game where there is intrigue and interest without Tiger. One young talented and seemingly nice guy that plays at the highest level is very refreshing. Looking forward to seeing Rory play next.

Tiger has announced he will return to golf at the Masters and to be honest I don't want him to win. I would prefer a Mickelson victory...although if he's in contention it will be exciting!

In this morning's Hilton Head Island Packet, I read this blurb from Thomas Boswell of the Washington PostThose who think that this week simply marks the return of Tiger Woods to his regularly scheduled appointment with greatness - and 5 more major championships to pass Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 -...

14 Majors, 71 PGA victories, and a golfer who dominates his profession!!! There have been countless clutch performances when discussing Tiger Woods as the best ever, but is he better than Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Jerry Rice....I think he is...Tiger Woods (like Jordan) has revolutionized...
