14 Majors, 71 PGA victories, and a golfer who dominates his profession!!! There have been countless clutch performances when discussing Tiger Woods as the best ever, but is he better than Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Jerry Rice....I think he is...Tiger Woods (like Jordan) has revolutionized golf....without him golf would be struggly in this recent economy....Tiger's presence exudes something that we've never seen before....DOMINATION...he has dominated golf for just over 10 years and he seem to reinvent himself overtime. The next 10 yrs will be interesting to see what happens...All I know is he's the best clutch performer I've ever seen...Hopefully we ALL get to see some more great performances from MR. WOODS.
I hardly class a golfer as an "athlete" - "sportsman" possibly.....
Tiger Woods has done wonders for golf, but he's no Jim Thorpe.
Golfers are not athletes. Best golfer ever, yes. But if Golf is athletic, then I am superman.
Behind Every Great Golfer is a Greater Cuddie!
Tiger Woods has the Greatest..... And he's a Kiwi!
I think he has no personality either not like some of the real Legends of Sport like George Best, Ali and Shergar. Who was Shergar, the best racehorse ever and it counts as an athlete, watch the little colt win his last race before the IRA kidnapped him.

Interesting claim considering the feats of the Kiwi horse Phar Lap that was kidnapped by the Aussis.
Gotta admit Phar Lap was deff one hell of a horse, I might just concede that one to you
Just for you, the Kiwi Wonder Horse !

But we CAN Agree on George Best... even with the black pearl
I deff agree plus I owe you one as I didn't realise there was a dvd movie on Phar Lap, am deff getting that as I love my racehorses
That wud be one of my dreams to do that, you are a dark horse !
Only Won 9 But Placed 46 times & you get a cheque for 1st-4th... So yeah did ok.. buying horses @ auction that the 'experts' passed over.
I guess if you only think of strength and speed then maybe not the best ever but if you consider mental stamina and physical endurance I bet he is a lot further ahead than Alli. And way more popular and with Alli does a big mouth count as personality.
Jim Thorpe was might great as well as Jesse Owens and how 'bout Ali?
At one time I thought it might be Carl Lewis, then Michael Jordan, but now, after seeing Usain Bolt run, I have to go with him as the greatest athlete of all time.
Its hard to put the label of best athlete on someone because each sport requires different skills. Wayne Gretzky is the best athlete in my book though.
Kinda hard for me to name a Best Athlete right off the top. But the Best Boxer of all time, inch for inch, pound for pound and without the least sliver of a doubt, is Muhammed Ali.

It may be just me, but I am longing to see Tiger get back to his former self. He was and still is the only reason I watch golf. Will we ever see the old Tiger again?

Even Nicklaus applauded him!!This win tied Woods with Nicklaus — the tournament founder!! http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/04/sport … -wins.html

Has golfer Tiger Woods lost his mojo and why. Can he get it back?

I felt like this weekend's US Open I was watching a renewed game where there is intrigue and interest without Tiger. One young talented and seemingly nice guy that plays at the highest level is very refreshing. Looking forward to seeing Rory play next.

Tiger has announced he will return to golf at the Masters and to be honest I don't want him to win. I would prefer a Mickelson victory...although if he's in contention it will be exciting!

I just realized that with all of Tiger's recent 'transgressions,' how did he focus in his tournaments? If i was him, that would constantly be on my mind! Imagine how good he actually could have been if he was on the straight-and-narrow!
