    Were the Colorado Rockies crazy to sign Troy Tulowitzki to a 10-year extension?

    In his brief career, he has already suffered two major injuries. His home/road splits are unimpressive and he typically starts the season off slow. The bulk of the money is at the end of the contract when he will be 35-36 years old. I like the extension, but 10 years seems a  bit much.

    I'm with you. He's a nice player, but seems like they way overpaid for him. Perhaps there's not a lot of good shortstops left in the game!

    I agree he was already signed to 2014 apparently so like Jeter a tad overpaid, they are making sure of hanging on their ss for many years to come, and the way he does play and get hurt that s a risk Colorado seemed willing to take Have a good day

    Big risk with big reward. If you look 10 years out, his salary will be a bargain.   I think they wanted an anchor for the franchise and he's their guy.
