How do I get started with long-range marksmanship?
I'm really interested in getting started up with long-range marksmanship and I'd like to know where to start
Unless one is already familiar with firearms, it is necessary to start with a basic firearm safety course. Many State Game and Fishing Commissions will provide this training course for a relatively minor fee. This course may be required before being allowed to obtain a hunting license.
For those already accustomed to firearm safety and use, it may be necessary to contact local gun clubs in the area to find others of similar interest. Gun clubs can usually recommend the best instructors for all types of shooting, including long range marksmanship.
Randy is right but if you'd like to get yourself started here's a link to my marksmanship hub:http://hubpages.com/hub/Rifle-Marksmanship
As for Equipment, unless you have enough money to buy extremely expensive sniper rifles, I suggest a Remington 700. These rifles can be modified and customized into extremely accurate weapons.
I wrote an article on Reminton 700 mods:
And an infobarrel article on Tactical Stocks, all of which are available for Rem 700s.
