Well in order to answer this question we need to determine the potential squad in 5 years. We need to put some rules in place so we can answer this question objectively.
    1. Any player above the age of 34 with the exception of goalkeepers will not be considered for the team. Goalkeepers past the age of 40 will not be considered.
    2. We will assume that all players included in the team will maintain their form. In other words we will assume that their future performances will mirror their best performances.
    3. Any really "hyped" players will be included into the team but will not replace players who have already played for the first team.
    4. All players out on loan will return to be part of the team
    So let's begin.
    Current FC Barcelona in 2015
    Jose Manuel Pinto - 42
    Carles Puyol - 39
    Eric Abidal - 38
    Xavi - 37
    David Villa - 36
    Dani Alves - 34
    -Cut off line
    Victor Valdes - 35
    Andres Iniesta - 33
    Adriano - 33
    Javier Mascherano - 33
    Ibrahim Afellay - 31
    Gerard Pique - 30
    Cesc Fabregas - 30
    Lionel Messi - 30
    Pedro - 30
    Alex Song- 30
    Keirrison - 29
    Alexis Sanchez - 29
    Sergio Busquets - 29
    Jordi Alba - 28
    Andreu Fontas - 28
    Jonathan Dos Santos - 27
    Thiago Alcantara - 26
    Marc Batra - 26
    Martin Montoya - 26
    Isaac Cuenca - 26
    Cristian Tello - 26
    Marc Muniesa - 25
-Players not part of first team but very promising
    Sergi Roberto - 25
    Rafinha - 24
    Gerard Deulofeu - 23
    Alejandro Grimaldo - 22
    Jean marie Dongou - 22
    So current squad
    *Possible subs are in brackets
    Valdes
    (Pinto)
    Alves Puyol Pique Alba
(Mascherano,Bartra, Montoya, Adriano, Abidal, Fontas, Muniesa)
    Busquets
    (Song)
    Xavi Iniesta
    (Thiago, Affelay, Dos Santos)
    Fabregas Messi Villa
    (Sanchez, Pedro, Tello, Cuenca, Keirrison)
Same formation but removing old players and new players will have asterisks around them.
    Valdes
    (**)
    Montoya, Macherano, Pique, Alba
(Bartra, Montoya, Adriano, Fontas, Muniesa, *Grimaldo*)
    Busquets
    (Song)
    Thiago, Iniesta
    (Affelay, Dos Santos, *Roberto*, *Rafinha*)
    Fabregas, Messi, Pedro
(Sanchez, Tello, Cuenca, Keirrison, *Deulofeu*, *Dongou*)
    So who was lost
Jose Manuel Pinto - 42 - Does he really make a difference
Carles Puyol - 39 - Has been injured a lot and there's good enough replacements
Eric Abidal - 38 - Alba is here now
Xavi - 37 - BIG LOSS but Thiago is has been biding his time and the others waiting are also incredible.
David Villa - 36 - Wasn't needed in the first place and there's lots of replacements
Dani Alves - 34 - He's been playing poorly this season anyways
    So......
