When do you think someone will break 2 hours in the men's marathon?
The world record seems to be creeping ever closer to that magic number and the Kenyans seem to be dominant but is 2 hours a step too far?
I think it will eventually happen but not for a few years at the earliest. The current world record is recognized as 2:03:38 although Geoffrey Mutai ran a 2:03:02 at the 2011 Boston Marathon. If I had to make a prediction I would say we are 10 to 15 years away from this milestone.
I agree with bdegiullio, it will happen, but maybe not in the next several years. Simply amazing to consider the possibilities!
