Now What Laker Fans?
Kobe Bryant had told the Lakers' critics to 'shut up' and be patient as the team finds cohesion on the court, but the team is an embarrassing 0-3...the signing of Dwight Howard is turning into a jink and 'old man' Steve Nash was scared to play against Chris Paul Friday Night ( leg contusion my (*)@#)
A true Laker fan would never write off the season after only 3 games! LOL! I have to admit though I really miss Phil Jackson!
The Lakers have always been a tough team to coach but to have a coach that has never been close to winning a title trying run a team with a captain that has been there 7 times and won 5 times is a real challenge. (Coach Brown is probably the most worried!) The owners have stacked this team with at least 3 future hall of famers.
If there is any bright news to consider we must remember what happened when the Miami Heat first got together. They really didn't jell until after the All-Star break. They eventually made it to the finals that (first year). However the one advantage the Heat has over the Lakers is YOUTH! This team was built for short-term immediate results. Kobe is getting hurt more and more each season. Father time is knocking at the door and the windows of opportunity are closing.
It sure doesn't look good for the Lakers so far, but it's too early to come to any conclusions. They'll probably get it together, at least to the point of making the playoffs. The Heat did it with players in their prime. I'm not convinced Nash has enough left to make a difference, and Kobe is no spring chicken. dashingscorpio made the point about the age factor, and the point about Phil Jackson is spot on also.

I think the Mavs really earned it, 2-0, as of today May 5. Dirk is hard to stop. Plus Only three NBA teams have come back to win a best-of-seven series after losing the first two at home. They are in the same situation with the Celtics. This is an interesting read...

Apparently, even if the LA Lakers do win the nba title this year, according to espn, the lakers are going to still ask phil to take a considerable pay cut to around like 5 million versus his current salary of 12 million. that's assuming he even resigns with them after this season to...

I've like Steve Nash's game since I saw him play at Santa Clara. I'm just wondering how much he has left. The Lakers have pulled veterans past their prime together in the past - Gary Peyton, Karl Malone team comes to mind.I still think the Lakers are two players away from...

Well, you can make a strong case for him that's for sure. Then again, you could argue that he's never been a great x's and o's guy because he's always had the luxury of having an assistant coach in Tex Winter that practically invented and defined the infamous Triangle offense of today's...
