Did Novak Djokovic outplay Andy Murray in the Australian Open final or was Murray unlucky?
I think in the end Murray lost concentration like he has done so much in the past. Always starts brightly and should have made the most of it.
Once Novak Djokovic overcame his nerves and his shaky first set he seemed to outplay Andy Murray. Novak was hitting the ball extremely well and under control and Andy couldn't seem to dictate any of the play. Andy looked a little tired too from all the running around. I don't think he was unlucky. He just was not the better player on the day.
Over a five set format (four in the match in question) it is really hard to attribute victory to luck or a loss to bad luck. Personally, I think moaning Murray probably believes it was bad luck - but Djokovic was simply the better player on the day...
