Dan Snyder sent his private jet to pick up Shanahan and the two are expected to meet well into the evening.

New general manager Bruce Allen acknowledged that the Redskins were in the process of executing a plan and it's widely believed that Shanahan is Allen's first choice to replace Jim Zorn

I wonder who Shanahan hires to his staff.  What's Elway doing and Terrel Davis doing these days lol

I hear his son, Kyle, will be his offensive coordinator and that Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer will take on that same role with the Redskins . .let the fun begin!

If it goes the way it has lately, Shanahan is probably wondering the same thing. Hopefully, Snyder won't take too long to let him know.

Shanahan is not going to make a difference either. Unless they overhaul the team from top down there is no use of a new coach. Just my two cents.

        lol.

As long as Snyder is the owner, the Redskins have no chance at winning the super bowl. Winning the division is out of the question.

I don't know if I agree with that necessarily.  I mean under Joe Gibbs, the Redskins were still fairly competitive in that tough nfc east division.  therefore, I think with the right coach they can do it.  Plus, they need a new quarterback that can lead them too.  jason campbell already proven he can't be a great starting qb in the nfl, so they need to draft a young quarterback to build around, or get a veteran that's good.

I think Shanahan goes in and makes the show his own. Will he have them ready next season? Who knows.

    GO COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, I think the skins need a new GM...they can get the best coaching staff and the best players money can buy, but that has never been Washington's problem. They need a change in overall business and personnel (both on and off the field).

I have this odd feeling that the Eagles (not Iggles as some would like to call them, ahem, Wavegirl! tongue) may trade Vick to them. It'll make me sick if that happens, which is the very reason why I think it will!

drej . .at least Im not calling them the Igglypigglies . ..

i know and just giving a little back..... gotta admit Igglypigglies . .thats a funny one . . .almost wish i came up with it .. .and while we are on the topics of the eagles. . can you tell me what McNabb has growing on his chin. .. kinda a Plaxico look. . .not a good omen there. . can someone tell him to shave it???

hahaha...Igglypigglies..nice..as for McNabb, at least he doesn't have the manboobs stickin out anymore!

And just to throw this out there, I hated Plax! He was an Eagle killer! He was like Dave Meggett back in the 90s. Gobbled the Eagles up! tongue

Plax did his thing and it was good for the Giants. . .but i think some of his bad energy infected my boys (Antonio to name one) and it all stemmed from that grizzly crap on his chin. . im telling you the eagles got no chance with that thing on his chin

Anyway Romo is hot and he has plenty of players to play with. . .and I cant believe i am actually saying this but I have a new respect for Wade. . .everything i have read from the players about how much they all love him. . and now that the press isnt picking on him  .. he isnt so offensive.....

His habit of being the players' pal instead of their coach has always been one of the top reasons sited for their lack of success when the pressure is on.

Well, wavegirl, I must say that I don't like your sudden (and by sudden I mean the last few weeks) interest with the Cowboys. I don't know how you could do it. As an Eagles or a Giants fan, Dallas represents everything that is evil! And don't get me started with their fans! Have you talked to a Dallas fan lately? It's as if they just won those superbowls in the 90s. It's like, wake up buddy! What have you done in the last decade!? Errr, I can't and I won't understand you rooting for Dallas, wavegirl! Errrr!

I don't know if Shanahan having control over personnel is a good thing for the Redskins. His bad personnel moves were one of the things that got him thrown out of Denver.
