Are there any sports in the Olympics that are truly amateur? I know Track, basketball, etc. are pro
Some of the shooting sports are open to amateurs if you consider military trained shooters going for Gold amateurs.
However, there are very few "amateurs" in the Olympics because professional athletes have been allowed to compete since the 1980s. The closest thing to amateurs are the wrestlers and some others who have to have side jobs to pay for training because they don't have national sports association support, national teams (NBA players on Olympic basketball team, NHL for hockey), well paying coaching/performing jobs (Icecapades for iceskaters), or sporting competitions to provide a living the rest of the year (tennis, bicycling).
