Do you feel a woman can coach a men's basketball or football team and be successful?

No they cannot. Women are respected as women. Competitive men have a scent that comes from testosterone. Women do not put forth that scent of dominance.

Of course I am joking a bit about that machismo chemistry. But only partly. I do not endorse it -- but it is real.

So you don't feel they can get past their testosterone moments....

Mine seems fine at 59 and I cannot deal with 24-30 year old machismo manifesto. The aggression without long run thought is just very hard to deal with. They did that 35 rule on POTUS for a good reason.

Depends on the men. The San Antonio Spurs (The #1 NBA franchise over the past few decades) have a girl coach in Becky Hammon as an assistant. She also was the head coach of the summer league team and won them a championship last year. This is only because the Spurs organization breeds winning and respect, and picks players that will fit into their culture. These men have very small egos and are only concerned about winning. Most professional players are concerned about money and image. A women coach would hurt their ego because they would feel inferior to her. The Spurs however, preach equality from owner to water boy. Every person in the organization has a responsibility to help them win, if they are handling their responsibility they are seen as equal. They have no stars on the Spurs.

The closest a women will ever get to a football field is in mini skirts, shaking pom poms.

Correct. They're played with testosterone. Something women lack

You're right, now that I come to think of it women just fall all over themselves and flail around aimlessly when they try to play sports... 'cuz not enough testosterone.

What exactly is the necessary amount of testosterone required, hm?

Aime, the bit about testosterone is not about playing better. It is about not playing as well with others. They question is not a "should" question.

I'd sure like to coach a football team to tackle you right about now smile

Testosterone bit was about being more exciting. People want to see dunks, not good basketball. Many NBA players believe the WNBA is MORE SKILLED, but skills don't equate to exciting, testosterone does

Aime, not worried, you'd trip and flail

I did say I'd coach a football team to tackle you, not that I'd do it myself.  Wouldn't want to get your testosterone all over me.

Why not ... it is easy for a woman to do that because she needs only her mind.
