Did you make your bracket picks for March Madness and see it upset by San Diego State University? They are heading into the final two for the first time in history. That followed history setting first ever final four preceded by a historic entry into the final eight. This is the third year they made into the Sweet Sixteen. In other words, this year's March Madness is definitely one for the history books!!

Can they go all the way? Stay tuned!

The evening news for the San Diego metro is alive with people watching the game in the Gas Light District and at coastal bars and pubs. At the stadium are grand stands full of students, alum, and fans watching big screen TV. Afterward have been enthusiastic celebration.

Congratulations to the University of Connecticut!! A tip of the hat to them for their prowess on the court. I enjoyed watching the game.

Here at the next link is a good read from the San Diego Union-Tribune.

I've liked "those Aztecs" (with apologies to my own HOW ABOUT THEM DAWGS?!) through the whole tournament. But to quote the New York Post:

Connecticut’s 28-point win over Gonzaga to reach Saturday’s semifinal round was the largest win by any team in the Elite Eight in over 30 years.

It was also UConn’s fourth win by at least 15 points through the first four rounds — a feat that’s been matched just nine times in NCAA Tournament history.

Five of those previous nine teams won it all, including these very Huskies in 2004.

That implies a 55.5 percent win percentage, which is right in line with UConn’s current odds.

In any sporting event, I love it when the odd's makers get proven wrong, but I wouldn't put any $$$ this time.

Interesting Kathleen! Thanks! Odds are odds, right? I live in San Diego county and am a fan of SDSU football mainly. I am not really a basketball fan except for March Madness and NBA finals.

I am going with the enthusiasm of San Diego metro and the county and rooting for the Aztecs to win it all!! smile
