He has just announced his retirement from international football.
I think that he has allowed his own ego to get the best of him, he is well past his best. The poor attitude and complete lack of effort that he made in the World Cup was disgraceful, a shame to his country. He allowed personal disagreements with the manager to get in the way of representing his country, whilst he was of course taking the place of somebody somewhere who would have busted a gut for France if given his place in the world cup squad.
He looks disinterested in football now, hence the reason he has now gone to the mickey mouse league for one last payday. The whole idea of him even being at the world cup after cheating to get France qualified, at the expense of Ireland, was laughable anyway. If he doesn't want to break a sweat for his paycheque, then it is time for him to quit the game altogether.
He is no longer international class, and no major loss to France. They have some good kids coming through, and no doubt they will be rushed through following the poop performance of their seniors.
I heard on the news this week he is moving to play football in America with Beckham... not Retiring.
Heskey is the one retiring from International Football.
Lady_E, Henry has also retired from International football. He stated that he didn't want to fly from America to Europe. In other words, he couldn't be bothered.
He was at his best when he was playing for The Gunnere, Arsenal. Now.......... He is not even the shadow of the old Henry.
he is a talented player who has proven capable of sustaining his class since the youth period. Despite his unpopular behavior sending Les Bleus to the South Africa 2011 with his controversial goal-setting against Republic of Ireland, Titi is one of the best strikers France ever had.

I'm South African, and so I've been watching a lot of the World Cup, since it's hosted in this country, but I've been pretty disappointed by the lacklustre performances. I think the Adidas "Jabulani" ball has a lot to answer for? What are your opinions?

What did you guys think? I thought the first goal by South Africa was stunning, very fitting. The games were sloppy though, it seems nobody could get much of a handle on the ball. That first group is up in the air now, pretty much any one of them have a decent chance of passing through.

Which country produces the best red wine in the world?A few days ago, I read a journalistic article about red wine producing countries around the world and the merits of each nation's offerings. It was in most respects very well written. When I got to the end, however, I was dumbfounded to realise...

I just watched a portion of Obama's town hall meeting in France. I would like to know what the rest of you thought about it. Was it a successful or was it a failure? Did he poise himself better than past American Presidents? Or was it just the same?I know, despite what some...
