      Sir Ian Botham because this all-rounder could almost single-handedly out-bowl or out-bat any team when he was on fire; and the brave way he did it made for really dramatic and richly entertaining viewing.
      
      Footballer - Pele - An amazingly skilful player who was a genius and a gentleman - the best role-model any youngster could have.

   Tough decision, but I like Adam Gilchrist, the Aussie wicketkeeper, he often came to the Aussie teams rescue with a big hitting fast ton.
   As for football, which code  are you referring to?
   If it's soccer, don't follow it, Aussie rules would be Dane Swan from Collingwood footy team. Rugby would be David Campese.

   I don't like cricket.
   
   My favourite footballer was Zinedine Zidane, and he still is... because no current footballer has bettered him yet.

   so fooolballer - means football?....I'd rather baseball...Joe Carter comes to mind.
