The Bahamaswill host this year’s Miss Universe pageant for the first time though it never had a semifinalist before.
It will be the 58th Miss Universe pageant and it will be held at the Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas this August 23, 2009.

The beautiful crowned Miss Universe 2008, Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela, hosted the preliminary competition and will crown her successor at the much awaited beauty pageant.
Who will be the Miss Universe 2009?
Special awards for Best in National Costume have already won by Miss Panama, Diana Broce, together with Miss Nicaragua, Indiana Sanchez for the 2nd place and Miss Thailand, Chutima Durongdej for the 3rd place.
The Miss Congeniality and Miss Photogenic awards will be announced on the main event. Meanwhile, anyone can vote for the Miss Photogenic online by going to nbc.com
