A Little Black Dress - Hourglass Figure

Now that you've read my article http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Perfect-Black-Dress let me introduce you to one! This little black dress would look great on hourglass figures. Let me tell you why. First of all, it's black (of course!). Black is flattering and slimming on everyone. The neckline on this dress is gorgeous! Scoop necklines are also ideal. They make the neck appear longer and also draw attention to the face. Next, the long sleeves on this dress are perfect for the approaching cooler weather and company holiday parties. Long black fitted sleeves make your arms appear longer and slimmer. Another thing this fab dress has to offer is that although the fit is closer to the body, it isn't skin tight. That's important because it's much more likely to hide anything you maybe trying to camouflage. Also, the stylish belt around the waist defines the figure and shows off those hour glass curves. The width of the belt is also significant because it isn't too thick. Therefore, it is accenting the waist but not in a way that would be incongruous to a larger frame or a shorter torso. Lastly, the hem of the skirt is my favorite length. It hits right above the kneecap. This is a perfect length for everyone.

Now, selecting the perfect black dress is important, but having the right accessories can really seal the deal. Accessories can change an office suit to a night dress, or a casual look to something more formal. When wearing a black dress they are paramount.  The dress I described is also versatile because you can wear it at the office or out on the town simply by changing the accessories.

In the Office

• Pairing the dress with a nice jacket will add sophistication and professionalism.  The jacket should come to the top of your hips and have darting at the natural waist to define the figure.

• Simple but elegant black pumps are the perfect choice for the work environment.

• For jewelry I would recommend a simple silver chain with silver hoops. Silver and black were made for each other!

On the Town

• When going out you'll need to add a little more. Bigger and bolder necklaces are hot and look striking with a simple black dress. I like adding color that pops with either teal or yellow.
• In the evening, try shoes that are more daring as well. A taller heel or, again, adding color is a perfect way to accomplish this.
• Small clutches are also very current and a must have accessory for going out in a little black dress. A clutch would make a perfect little tote and would also be a good chance to add some more bling with out looking ostentatious.

For make up, I love the smokey eye with black dresses. The look is smoldering and dramatic. Make sure that you keep your lips glossy and neural and your brows clean with this look though. Too much extra make up with smokey eyes can be over whelming!

Again, I love this dress. It is a prime example of a perfect black dress for an hour glass shape.  The lines are beautiful and it can be easily assecceorized to fit any occastion.
