Chrysanthemum gemstone seems to have received its name because of the unique patterns embedded in the stone which resembles that of the flowering chrysanthemums. It is actually a natural volcanic rock with calcite crystal formations which are responsible for the flower patterns on the stone. This gemstone is also known as Flower Stone. This stone is normally found in red to brown and black and white. No two stones look the same. They are different and a unique work of art of nature.

Chrysanthemum Stone is associated with the Zodiac Signs of Taurus and Aquarius. Keeping a Chrysanthemum stone around is said to bring good luck, fortune and great opportunities. However, this is not much suitable as a jewelry gemstone as it only has a hardness of 4.5 on the Mohs scale. This stone is widely used in carvings and sculptures. This stone is associated with the Heart and Crown Chakras and is an excellent gemstone for meditation. Meditating on this stone can help in overcoming fear and obstacles in order to achieve abundance, contentment and joy.
