Dog Reindeer Costume

Dog Reindeer Antlers Will Make Your Pooch Festive for the Season

What is it about dogs with reindeer antlers? Whenever I see a in a dog reindeer costume or embarrass my own dog by putting antlers on her, it makes me smile. Well, actually it makes me laugh.

I know it's not nice to laugh at my dog, but she just looks so ridiculously cute with antlers on her head!

My dog also politely tolerates the indignity of antlers, hats or other fun accessories on her head (unlike my cat, who glares at me for the few seconds she allows the silly things to stay on her head). I think my dog might secretly enjoy having her own dog Christmas costume.

If you love dog reindeer costumes, I've compiled some links here to help you embarrass your own dog this Christmas with a dog reindeer costume, as well as some fun pictures of other pooches doing their best to impersonate Rudolph.

Famous "Reindeer Dogs"

I think my fascination with dogs with antlers started with How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I love the Grinch and Max the dog, particularly the the scene in which the grumpy old Grinch gets a "wonderful, awful idea" and puts antlers on Max, making him tip over until his head touches the floor. Max's expressions in that movie are priceless.

And then there's Olive the Other Reindeer. I'm not particularly fond of the animation in this Christmas special, but I love the storyline about a dog named Olive who hears Santa talking about "all of the other reindeer" and thinks he says "Olive the other reindeer." Being a loyal and helpful dog, she sets out on a quest to the North Pole to serve as one of Santa's flying reindeer. She doesn't actually wear antlers in the movie, but when I think of "reindeer dogs," I always think of Olive, too.

Your dog may never be as famous as Max or Olive, but putting reindeer antlers or other dog Christmas costumes on your pet can be a lot of fun.

Pretty Cute, Huh?

Nice hub! Dogs are a little bit strange in costumes, but they look funny at the same time.

I don't have a dog, but if I did, I would make him wear reindeer antlers. Look how cute all those dogs look! Also, they do look kind of funny. Really cute hub! I wish there was a "cute" button I could push!
