Cheap and Versatile Ingredients ~

Yes folks, this recipe is using FRESH mint and not peppermint or spearmint essential oil as in previous lippy recipes. What it is, is another ultra simple recipe using only 3 ingredients that do not require special equipment in the kitchen.

My last homemade recipe for lips, a beetroot lip stain used two of the same base ingredients so this recipe can be made to utilize the same lip luscious beeswax and almond oil.

Lip gloss is usually made with color but this one is colorless for that glossy natural look to be worn alone or even over your favorite lipstick to give it a kick and raise it up a notch.

Lips & Tips ~

if you wish to make half the quantity (1/2 oz) them just half each ingredient measure.

Each week treat your lips to a lip scrub to remove any dry skin, dead skin cells and render the lips soft, with an even texture that will make your lip gloss application a smoother one.

Each night apply a drop of olive oil, almond oil or coconut oil on the lips to keep them conditioned and nourished.

Experiment with this recipe swapping different ingredients in.

Essential oils such as lavender, rose, patchouli, peppermint, orange and lemon for example could be used in place of mint.

If you are allergic to beeswax you can use emulsifying wax or carnuba wax instead. MountainRoseHerbs.com is the place to purchase these and indeed all ingredients and containers for homemade products.
