Roxy has been one of the hottest lines we have ever put into our retail and online stores. The appeal is a combination of cutting edge fashion, seasonal product changes, great quality and affordability. Doesn’t quite seem like those two words fit together in the same sentence….if it is affordable, you can’t always expect good quality. The fact is the product is exceptionally well made and doesn’t hurt the pocketbook. Roxy has a few categories, the Roxy Girl collection was designed to appeal to girls from 7-16. However, we find that those rules seem to be broken in our stores, the styles and colors drive the purchase and our customers really don’t seem to obsess over whether the collection is Roxy Girl vs. Roxy.

Where did this Roxy phenomenon come from? It turns out that Roxy was created to appeal to the female surf market, since their parent corporation Quiksilver already dominated the men’s surf world. At Roxy’s inception in 1990, you were clearly hearing about female surfers and their accomplishments. However, it was still considered a very risky marketing move to create product line that was targeted to the female surfer. Sometimes it takes a risky move to tap a new market, and Roxy unquestionably hit a home run!

Today we are not talking about the narrowly defined target market of female surfers the product has mass appeal among girls anywhere and anyplace. Roxy has evolved into clothing, travel accessories, sunglasses, backpacks, handbags, jewelry and more. The well recognized Roxy heart logo was inspired by the Quiksilver surf logo. A variation of the Quiksilver logo, duplicated and facing each other cleverly evolved into the now famous Roxy heart logo. In 1997 they were nominated for the “California Rising Star Award” for design innovation and excellence. Whether you are considering the product for a gift or for yourself, this is a product that you will definitely enjoy! Roxy gets an A+ in my book for creativity.

Every Season of the year Roxy introduces new styles, new colors, and best of all the product is affordable. Whether you are looking for backpacks, bookbags, handbags, totes, luggage, bags, sling packs, or accessories Roxy and Roxy Girl will have an impressive selection. Roxy products are sure to make a great gift, but at these affordable prices you might want to think about a gift for yourself!
