Gold and money

No matter what the society is , gold is given the utmost importance. All around the world however long we can trace back in history gold was used , and still used as money and to exhibit power.

Societies have fought and died over Gold..

So , how is it possible that all the societies and cultures around the world gave such importance to a metal , among all the metals they used iron ,bronze ,silver and gold , Gold was the most shining object and rarest.

Where did gold come from and why is it rare?

Well like all the things in earth , gold is also star dust. Also not all stars can produce gold at their death.
But it is believed that most of the gold elements that were a part of earth when it was born are in the earth's core, but the gold that we are mining nowadays are latest additions to our earth as meteorites.

Values that Gold provide

The values are very limited other than the fact it is used as money.

  1. Beauty :The Gold jewelries are used by both men and women around the world for grooming themselves
  2. Jobs: There are lots of jobs that thrive since ancient times which involves smelting gold and making ornaments and etc.
  3. Medicinal : It was believed that gold has many medicinal values and golden plates and glasses were used to eat and drink, colloidal gold were used as medicine by many emperors and kings. The modern medicinal values of gold and its isotopes are also many
  4. Space : Gold is a good reflector of harmful radiations from sun such as infrared, for which gold is used in coating satellites and space crafts
  5. Others : The qualities of gold such as non-corrosive , electrical conduction made them available to use in electronics

Myth related to gold that defines human kind.

There is a myth in the Sumerian texts that says gold had far greater purpose in the history of human kind.

The myth is that Aliens came to earth for its gold , which they needed for protecting their world from harmful radiations from space. So they came but how does it defines humanity? Here comes the funny story ,when the aliens came to earth there were only apes and they needed some slaves to work in their mine fields , so they mixed their race with the apes in earth and human race was created.

Since then the humans are searching gold through out their life. !!
