can i go in the ocean right after i get my belly button pierced?
Fresh piercings are VERY susceptible to bacterial infections, something that can easily happen if the ocean water is contaminated at all. It's best not to do so until it is healed.
considering most infections my mother received in her lab from medical centers were from the ocean ...uh no....she repeatedly warns me that even if its just a cut from shaving, to put triple anti biotic ointment on it before and after swimming, esp. in heavily concentrated areas, you wouldn't believe how many people pee and poo in the water and the warm salt water is just right for breeding bacteria quickly.
Just do it. If you get an infection, consider it a cleansing of the gene pool. Evolution in action.
Why risk it? However, I do like the previous answer. That's hilarious.
