    We also wear glasses but we don't shove them into our eyes.

    I am not sure what the specific reason is but we get too much fluoride in our diets the way it is so NOT swallowing is probably a good idea. Think about it, it is the only nutrient we are forced to take because it is in all public water, and the research is based on stuff from the 1940's and hasn't been updated since!
