I think it's that the grey hair says something about their maturity and experience, just as the commercials suggest! My husband has a bit of grey hair and I find it attractive on him (and he's only two years older than me!).
I've heard the same reasons about maturity and experience as well.
What they don't give thought to are the levels of stress in our lives that helped create those grey hairs.
