How do you clean your braids or weaves hairstyles
How do you keep your braids and weaves clean especially in hot sweaty weather.
I like to clean my scalp and hair using a clarifier. A clarifier is something that cleans all of the sweat and dirt out of your hair. It is good for when your hair is really dirty, and should not be used more than once a week. That is how strong it is, and how capable it is of cleaning your hair and scalp. It's a step or two above a shampoo.
A clarifer is also good because it keeps your hair at the appropriate PH levels.
The clarifier I use is apple cider vinegar and honey. I use about a cup of honey and a cup of vinegar. Then I mix the two together, wet my hair, and pour the mixture through my hair. If you need more for your hair, use more. Then rinse your hair out. Rinse your hair out good with cool water.
Never use warm or hot water for your hair, it takes out the moisture in your hair which is what your hair needs to grow. The vinegar smell will go away once your hair dries. Use a towel to pat dry your hair, then use a tower to wrap around your hair to get any excess water out.
After your hair is dry, you want to use a leave in conditioner.
I use Taliah Waajid's protective mist bodifier. It moisturizes and conditions the hair.
