How can you make a straight long hair wavy?

My hair is straight and I want to add a little "life" to it. Can you suggest ways to make it wavy?

Wait until it's still damp, (but not really damp, only somewhat) working in some mousse, and twisting it into a really tight bun on the top of your head. Sleep on it and then when you wake up in the morning it's really wavy. The waves do fall a little but it still looks a lot more voluminous by the end of the day
If you don't want to wait you can make a looser bun and blow dry but I don't know if it would last as long.

Brush it straight after you shower in the morning, blow dry it halfway so that it is still wet but will dry faster, and shake it out with your fingers. Wait for it to dry, and then pin back a side of it with a bobby pin. This is what I do every day, I hope it works for you.

(I also use now Unite Boosta spray before i first brush my hair. It helps, but just a little, so it is still optional.)
