At the Price of Windows and Office Combined, Get a Laptop with Both Having Latest Versions: Acer Aspire One Cloudbook 11

Updated on September 21, 2015

Windows 10, the latest operating system from Microsoft is now more than one month old, from its official release on July 29, 2015. Despite privacy concerns and update problems, the operating system can be called a hit with over 75 million installs in one month and still counting. The tech giant is offering a free upgrade for devices running genuine Windows 7 and 8.1 within a year. New major versions of Windows were previously not free, but Microsoft has changed the policy this time. There are three options available to consumers who want the latest operating system: upgrade their Windows 7 or 8.1 devices to Windows 10, buy a new PC with Windows 8.1(also coming mostly with Office 2013 or 365) and then upgrade to the latest Windows, and lastly, buy a new PC with Windows 10. If you have a very old computer that have Windows XP or Vista installed and want to experience the new features of Windows 10, your option might be to buy a new Windows 10 PC. Here we will be looking at the third option right from Acer, the Aspire One Cloudbook 11 for just $189.99 from Microsoft store online.

Acer is one the first PC makers to release a Windows 10 laptop into the market which is available. It has made innovative products such as Aspire Switch 10 whose sales are still going strong today. The company is continuing to release new products shipping with the latest version of Windows and Office to fulfil the needs of consumers. Aspire One Cloudbook is one of them. This could well be a replacement for Windows XP-based computer since there is no direct way to upgrade to Window 10 from that PC for free.

The retail price of Windows 10 Home today is $119.99 and the price of Office 365 Personal for one year is &69.99. This actually makes about $190. At about the same price you can get a laptop having both. What could be more eye-catching and attractive than this?

Running on a dual core Intel Celeron Processor N3050(1.6 GHz) with 2GB DDR3L memory, this laptop is very lightweight, weighing just 2.54 pounds. It is just 17.9 mm thick. It also has 32 GB SSD Drive, 1,366 x 768 screen resolution, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi connectivity, HDMI and USB 2.0 ports. There is also a webcam. As far as the battery life is concerned, this small powerhouse has 8 hours of impressive battery life. There is a full sized SD card reader, so you can extend the storage capacity by inserting SD card up till 128 GB. The display is 11.6 inch LED and talking about the colors, they look vibrant and rich from every angle viewed.

With today’s world of cloud integration, this laptop does not fall short but offers even more. Microsoft is offering free OneDrive storage for 1 year of about 1 TB with this product. Acer offers its own cloud service with its suite of apps that come preinstalled on this product. The cloud services enable you to access your documents and files wherever you are, so you are always connected to your information.

The device offers full Windows 10 experience. It includes the new Start Menu, Cortana (the digital voice assistant from Microsoft), fast startups and more ways to connect across your devices. The edition is Windows 10 Home (64 bit).
