Best Cell Phones 2010 - Top 5 Mobile Phones

Updated on June 23, 2011

It seems that almost daily there is news of a new cell phone being released, news of an upcoming cell phone, or news of future cell phone technology that will blow all current competition out of the water.  The fact is that the cell phone market is dynamic, always changing, a river that you can't just blindly jump into but one where you have to watch its current, its seasonal changes, and then jump with eyes wide open.

In other words you need to be equipped with the proper knowledge before you buy a cell phone.  You need to know what the best cell phone plans are; you need to know what the top rated cell phones are; and, most importantly, you need to know which cell phones are the best cell phones.

The top 5 mobile phones that are about to be listed below are the 5 best cell phones of 2010 because they incorporate everything I just mentioned - a good cell phone deal, highest quality, and the best user satisfaction.

The Top 5 Cell Phones of 2010:

iPhone 4

If you didn't see this coming then you haven't had a cell phone before. When the iPhone first came out it revolutionary what a mobile device could do - all the apps, the touch screen, the ability to browse the internet - and it had people wondering what could possibly make a cell phone better.

Who better to give that answer then the company who forced the question. The iPhone 4, which came out in the spring, has once again changed the game.

A sleeker design. Multitasking. More powerful apps. Video calling. The list of added features goes on and on thus making it one of the best mobile phones for 2010; in fact I'll go as far and say that this top rated cellphone is one of the best cell phones of all time.

The BlackBerry Torch is one of the best new cell phones 2010.

BlackBerry Torch

BlackBerry has long been the leader in smart phones. Then the iPhone came and their sales started to drop.

How did BlackBerry respond?

By changing the way they made cell phones, by listening to consumers and giving them what they want. The greatest testament to this change? One of the best cell phones 2010, the BlackBerry Torch. The BlackBerry Torch has a newly updated operating system which allows you to surf the web, update Facebook, with concise speed. It also includes both a touch screen and a keyboard (for you guys who love the old blackberry design). In other words - this phone has it all.

It's sleek design, easy to use interface, and faster browser make this phone one of the leaders for future cell phone technology.

LG Optimus

The LG Optimus is one of the best cell phones of 2010 because it features some of the best cell phone plans of the year. For example the phone is coming to Canada later this year and Bell, who carries the phone, will be offering the phone for around $100 on a three year plan. A great plan for a great phone.

The Optimus has many of the similar features that smart phones have. It has a touchscreen display, a 1 GHz processor, a five Megapixel camera, HD recording and QWERTY keyboard for those who don't like the touch screen. All these features work seamlessly together making this top rated cell phone easy to handle.

The LG Optimus's biggest selling point is that it runs on a Windows 7 OS - this brings a lot of the key features the computer processor has onto a mobile device.

All in all the LG Optimus is one of the best mobile phones of the year.

Samsung Epic

This one is big a bulky - but for a reason. It includes so many high performance features that you'd think that the phone isn't bulky enough. First off is the display: the AMOLED display is crystal clear and HD-like. If that isn't enough for you there is also a front-facing camera attached to the screen for video calling.

The phone includes a QWERTy keyboard and has a 1GHz processor making this the fastest phone on Sprints 4G network.

Oh yeah.

It also can be a mobile Wi-Fi hot spot for up to four devices.

How do you not have the EVO on this list? It's clearly the best phone in the market today. You don't even have it on the list though? Wow!!

Thank for sharing. Though the Samsung Epic looks attractive, I'm still happy using my Nokia anyway as it provides me everything I need for a mobile phone. :-)

My N8 should be on the list too - even though it has its flaws (what's new from Nokia?). But for me, it's my:

      1. Cellphone (duh?)

      2. Mobile Computer

      3. DVD Player

      4. HD Recorder

      5. Portable Digital Camera (12 mp!)

      6. I'm pretty sure there's more but let's stick to this list for now.

I believe that the list is not completed without Samsung Galaxy, Samsung Omnia 7 or the new HTC HD 7. In my opinion, the only amazing feature of iPhone 4 is its marketing.

@Trinsick: Same with me. The android, I think, has much more potential and room for growth than the iPhone.
