Best Screen Recording Software

With so many different screen capture and screen recording software applications on the market it is sometimes very difficult to pick the recording software that would allow you to create that amazing master piece.

In this hub I want to share with you two of my best Screen Recording programs, the first is an advanced program you can purchase and provides many features that even professionals will be amazed with and the second is a free version of recording software for windows operating systems.

What is Screen Recording Software?

Before going on to these two recording programs let’s briefly cover what these applications are and how they work.

You want to create a ‘How-To’ guide and explain to your audience how they can create a ‘To-Do list’ using Microsoft Excel. In this case explaining actions on a computer is difficult and time consuming. It is also not ideal for those learners to consume your textual instructions and convert that into actions. This is where the use of screen capture or recording software reduces such complexity by giving you the ability to visually and dynamically show your actions and also use audio narration to provide an enhanced instruction video or presentation.

The screen recording software’s presented in this hub have different key features and functions that may influence your decision when choosing the one to use. Before picking the screen capture application you must consider what your intended results are and if you are ready to invest money into a product or use something that is freely available as this will naturally support your software feature requirements and ultimately which software to use.

Which Screen Recording Program – Paid or Free version?

In my view if you are starting out and working on say producing online content for monetisation then I would go with the free version and then splash out something on a more powerful and feature rich screen capture application once I have generated enough income from my online activities.

On the other hand you may wish to invest in tools that would provide you with the best functionality to produce professional quality recordings from the start. Whichever option you decide to take these two applications will certainly impress.

Paid Screen Recording Program

Camtasia Studio for Windows, this screen capture application is more than a simple screen recorder, it gives you the tools you need to truly tailor and control your videos. Using Camtasia you can record on-screen actions, add external imported media, create interactive content, and share your high-quality videos, it also has HD video capability that your viewers can watch anytime, on nearly any device.

This screen recording program is a professional quality tool with many advanced features it will require some learning when you start to use it.

Camtasia screen recording application is not very difficult to learn and the basic features are more or less the same across the board in this type of applications. You can download a trial version to test out the features it provides.

Rather than me boring you with all the pro’s and con’s, here’s a link to the YouTube channel and you can see for yourself if it is good enough for you to use.

Camtasia Studio 8 - Overview Video

My personal opinion is that I enjoy using it and it is very good in what it does. The videos are easy to create and integrate into interactive training modules. Since purchasing my copy, it took me roughly 2 weeks to pick up the techniques required to create, edit, and publish interactive training videos using Camtasia Studio.

Free Screen Recording Software Program

This is the application I started with first ‘Jing’, a screen recording application from the same company as Camtasia Studio. The best thing is it is free and offers very good selection of features that allow you to quickly and easily produce instructional videos, presentations and more.

Jing provides you with an easy way to create images and videos of what you see on your computer screen then share them instantly with your family, friends and online community.
