How it looks on a Win 8 machine. Now, you know where things are!

If you have bought a new computer it comes with Windows 8. The system is either you like or do not like situation. It has not sold well for Microsoft. When it comes on, the tablet-like tiles Start screen comes up instantly. From there, you use your finger to touch. For many users, they are simply use to the Win 7 desktop that pops on showing all you icons and from there you click on. In Win 8, the desktop has become a relic of the past. So, if you have not pinned a new app to the taskbar in Win 8, you have to go back and forth between the desktop and Start Screen. There is no Start Button that launches the Start Menu, ugh!

The simple fix to make Win 8 have the facade of Win 7. To do this, you should purchase a new app called Start8 for $5. The utility once installed restores the Start Menu and desktop as in Win 7. Once the feature is activated, you can boot directly into the familiar Win 7 desktop to avoid the Win 8 Start Screen. Cool!

The program also allows you to disable several annoying Win 8 features if you prefer. If for some reason you need the Win 8 Start Screen, by default, there is a link to it that allows you to launch it.

This app is slick and highly recommended if you simply grow to dislike Win 8. Try it.

Thank you for the solution perrya. I do not like Windows 8 and have been considering taking it off my new computer for some time now. Your suggestion solves my issue and is a much simpler solution. Thanks again.
