Find a Job as a Graphic Designer
Besides writing hubs, I am a graphic artist and have found a few jobs online. Writers are not the only ones getting a few extra bucks working at home. If you are a graphic artist, you can apply free for graphic designer jobs at the following websites:
elance.com
guru.com
designrelated.com
They will also buy your creations (if you impress them) at constant-content.com. They accepted a few of mine. Another is bagstab.net. After loading one of my graphic artworks they put it on a computer bag and they sell it for me and they keep part of the profit. Mine is the Bird of Paradise Messenger Bag.
There is also a site called phokki at https://www.facebook.com/phokki/
This site hooks up artists and art lovers. You can upload a few of your creative styles and then people will upload their own pictures for you to make in a particular style. They can then choose to make special gifts out of them. Just by hovering over the artwork at phokki, you can see the before and after version which is pretty cool. I have a few there in the popular category like dreamy, floralpower, in love, princess, bakugan, fairies among us, and on top of a flower which were fun to make. There are some pretty awesome artists on this site and you can get some terrific ideas for new styles. The site was featured in the Advanced Photoshop magazine.
Most employers want to see your portfolio before they hire you. You can make yourself an online portfolio for free at a few places or very low monthly rate. I have my profile at absolutearts.com
artistrising.com
creativehub.com – I really like this one because you can have a portfolio for different types of art – photography, digital art, traditional, illustration, etc.
fineartamerica.com – I like this site because they send you statistics of how many people looked at your art, commented on it and what other artwork sold each week, so you will know the current trend.
For photographers there are several, and here is one that I use:
http://www.photogalaxy.com/
Besides applying for jobs online and making an online portfolio so you can give the link to prospective employers be active in online graphic design forums like at:
howdesign.com
liquidtreat.com
You will probably find some great ideas and even leads in the forums.
If you are aware of any more that you have actually derived income from – even a dollar – let me know so I can add it to the list.
