Magazine in the Future, Complete with LCD Screen

Updated on November 9, 2011

This time I want to write something light but still nice to be read. This hub related with technology and I think we have to learn about technology. We can’t deny about this. We all surrounded with all things related with technology. I wouldn’t mention this one by one. But if you read my hub about magazine, you will see a lot of surprises if you read this hub. Personally, I just say “wow” and “wow”.

We live in modern era, we may predict what happen next in the future. I thought everything depend on technology, I hope you agree with me. This also happen with the magazine in this hub. We can see how these magazines looks so amazing when technology took part. Everything looks modern. I know this was a special edition. But this could be an idea as for the future magazine or it could be better than before. Curious……please continue to read!

“Successful Farming”, LCD in magazine

Wow….I had never imagine about this and I want to say that I had never seen like this in person. One of the oldest agricultural magazine, “Successful Farming” in the newest edition in August, 2010 has made the evolution. This is special edition where we can find the video through LCD. On a page, we will see a small LCD screen which will display ads from certain companies.

The appearance of advertising in a video is much more interactive than ads in print and pictures, right. So far, the magazine only done a limited testing and it seems like not all the August edition attached this LCD screen. Just look at the video, we may have a good imagination what will happen with the future magazine.

Neo2 Limited Magazine

Other technology put on the magazine came from Neo2 magazine. This magazine use 2.4 LCD screen, rechargeable (via USB)and it also reusable. So that readers can upload any video on it once played the spot. Based on the information, more than 2.500 copies sold in the market. This device has a memory 512 MB and also a Canon EOS adapter for MBP-1 45 minute video. But other great news is this edition sold with the normal price of the publication. Maybe this is a good way to promote a product, right. The advertising support is used in Spain.

Grazia Magazine with Augmented Reality technology

Here's a new way to create a magazine that can be used not only to be read but can see other things in 3D through the computer. Through Augmented Reality (AR) technology, a magazine called Grazia has made the first edition that combines the AR technology. With AR technology, the readers with the help of a webcam and internet connection can see beyond what is being displayed in magazines. This is amazing technology that out of my imagination. For example, if you're looking at the model, by showing photo model in front of the webcam, it will automatically connect to a page that will display the model in 3 dimensions in the computer.

Not only that, by moving the hands in front of a magazine or a webcam, we can also rotate the model in real time and is still much amazing things we can do with AR technology. But before you do all that things, you have to go to their website at http://www.graziadaily.co.uk/3D

Magazine with 3D issue!

There may be questions about AR technology directly to their website, this is where the greatness of AR technology where we can combine something happened on the web with what we are doing at the computer. Maybe if you watch the video below you will be more clearly.

Just for information, Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that was created to combine information from a computer into real life or the computer can provide information in accordance with demand in real time.

Above of all, maybe there is a policy in limitation the usage of paper in the future, because everything is accessible via the Internet. Online magazine will be more dominant in the future with a variety of applications offered by vendors. We are as reader has many choices. Tablet computer like iPad as will be more used widely in accessing information. Touch screen as a feature to view the page and move from page to another page. But I wish the best for us. What do you think about this magazine? Let’s discuss together!..........
