Really Cheap Netbooks under $100

Cheap Netbooks Under $100

Cheapest Netbooks under $100 on the Market

If you are looking for cheap netbooks under $100 then you need to choose either the Menq or the Cherrypal, both of which are cheap netbooks under $100. Netbooks can cost anywhere up to $700,which seems a lot to me for a netbook, so a netbook for under $100 is not too bad - it's even cheaper than an ebook reader !

[UPDATE : Early 2011 it ssems that the Menq netbook mentioned below is difficult to find and the Cherrypal has changed from being a cheap netbook to being a cheap mini-laptop called the Cherrypal Asia with the following specifications - high resolution 7-inch screen, high-quality, low-energy consumption, very low price ($99 or less), 533MHz (ARM9) processor, 256 MB DDR / 2 GB NAND-flash and runs Android 1.7.2. LAN:10/100M Ethernet Access WIFI: IEEE 802.11 b/g Ethernet RJ-45 Keyboard: QWERTY 86 keys, mouse and touch pad, 3xUSB 2.0, external memory : SD card , MMC card slot (8GB), Battery: 7.4 V 2100Mha, battery: 4 hours, built-in speaker and microphone, weight: less than 2 pounds, size: 213.5 x 141.8 x 30.8 mm. So if you are looking to buy a cheap netbook for under $100 then it appears that the Cherypal Asia is the one you need to buy.] As I can't delete this hub I have left it as it is for historical info. !

The two cheap netbooks in question are the Menq EasyPC E790 at $80 and the new netbook on the block the Cherrypal Africa at $99. The Cherrypal netbook has a very small screen which is just 7", but this is the same as the Menq. It also has a 40 MHz processor with 256 GB RAM and 2GB flash memory. Its lithium battery gives four hours of use. The operating system can be either Windows CE or Linux. Cherrypal are also marketing their netbook as being environmentally friendly, saying that it consumes the least possible amount of power and that it uses less parts than its competitors. In addition to this the company powers its website from wind power !

The Menq EasyPC E790 Netbook is Cheap !

The Menq E790 is more attractive if you are purely looking for the cheapest netbook on the market. At $80 really you are not risking much. It also has a 7-inch screen with a 800 x 480 display. The processor is a Samsung ARM926EJ-S3C2450. At the moment the Menq E790 runs under Windows CE, but Menq plans on releasin an Android firmware update.

The ARM9 processor is not particularly fast, but that might change when Android becomes available.

Neither of these would qualify as being one of the best netbooks around but one advantage that the Cherrypal has over the Menq is that it has twice as much RAM. The Cherrypal has 256MB and the Menq has just 126MB.

It is expected that the Menq will be appearing in Wal-Mart stores sometime soon.

Thank you for the great example to writing a hubpage. I am just starting and use a little more tongue-in-cheek.

if you are having a laptop you need to know everything about it or if it doesn't tell you all about it and if you get it and it's a big probleme that's because it ddidn't say anything about it so if you want a laptop then you know what to do.

      thanks

ETM - $100 is roughly £60 - if you live in Fife I guess the easiest way to get a netbook is to buy one over the Internet, although quite honsety I suspect you know more about buying stuff in Fife than I do. I don't sell netbooks by the way, I just wrote about the cheap netbooks currrently available :-)
