In light of all the attention Youtube is getting, other high caliber video sharing websites are being left in the dark. Revver is a perfect example of this. Revver is a great video sharing site that has been "out shouted" by Youtube in the past.

It is my hope that after reading this hub you will realize the value revver has to offer and the importance of taking revver seriously. So instead of automatically posting your video to youtube, give revver a try. It's easy to upload and share videos, and earn money!

Revver Website

So what is revver.com?

According to their website, they are the first viral video network that pays it's users. They actually do all the hard work of gathering video creators/sharers and advertisers, merge them together, and offer a beneficial solution to both. The video creators/sharers earn money and the advertisers get to advertise to their targeted audiences.

Revver's Payment System

Revver has becoming very popular because it pays users for videos. More specifically, you get paid based on how many ads are clicked on before, during and after your videos play! This revenue is split 50/50 with revver.

Revver also allows some modification of when and if advertisements are shown during your video, so if you want to limit the number of ads shown during your video you can.

Once you make $20 on revver.com they pay you via paypal. Getting an account through paypal is free, so don't let this stop you from getting your hard-earned money from revver!

Bonus way to make money on Revver:

Revver makes it possible for you to earn money by sharing videos from other users. This is done by posting the video of another revver user using your unique embedded ID. So wherever you post that video (your website, blog, etc.) you earn 20% of the revenue from ads that are clicked on. This makes it possible for you to earn money using Revver and you don't even have to create your own videos!

How to get Started at Revver

If you are ready to take the plunge and get involved at revver.com, here's a quick how-to guide:

  1. Get a free account from Revver
  2. Start uploading your own videos or grab videos from other users and share them using your embedded ID code.
  3. Promote your videos or videos you have grabbed from other users.
  4. Cash that paycheck from revver!

Revver Video - Statistics

Here are some interesting statistics about Revver video straight from their website:

They have 30,000,000 video streams per month

They have 1,000,000 unique visiters per month

There are 150,000 unique video creators on Revver

They boast an average in-player click through rate of 3% for advertisements

Recent Problems with Revver

A fair look at Revver video has to include the recent payment problems Revver seems to be having. Apparently Revver has not been faithfully paying their users. In fact, according to this article, Revver simply stopped talking about payments since December of 2008.

Unfortunately, if this is true I cannot recommend Revver and will instead recommend Blip.tv as a viable alternative. If revver really isn't paying their customers, shame on them.

I wonder how long it will be before they have a lawsuit brought against them.

Here's more reading about revver's payment issues.
