Thank You, Steve Jobs, You Will Be Missed

Updated on October 10, 2011

Thank You For All Your Have Accomplished In Your Life

This will likely be the shortest Hub I've written to date simply because I don't have anything new I could tell you about Steve Jobs that you don't already know. It's not like I personally knew him or anything...yet still I feel a great sense of loss after his death.

On the human level, the way in which he lived his life was an example of how we all should. His commitment to his beliefs and his relentless determination to achieve his goals, not to mention his remarkable intellect, are all qualities each of us should aspire to have.

On more of a professional level, his ability to market products was light years ahead of everyone else in the world. What the marketing industry has learned from Steve Jobs has literally changed the way we see products offered today.

Come to think of it, how many times could we say Steve Jobs' name and follow it with the words, "changed the way we..."? It was literally how he lived his life, to invent and develop new technology to make life better. And make it better he did. Apple computers, Mac Books, IPods, IPads and IPhones, what would we ever have done without those miracles of technology?

Steve Jobs, your visionary dreams helped us live more conveniently. Your knowledge and determination inspired people and allowed you to become a mentor to millions of followers in many different niches of business. You were considered a friend to so many and were even called a tyrant by others. One thing is for sure, you will not be forgotten any time soon.

I wish I had had the opportunity to shake your hand and tell you thank you while you were alive. Now that you are gone and I have had time to reflect on how you have affected my life, I feel saddened for not having realized it sooner.

I feel sad too for the great loss the world has suffered with the passing of Steve Jobs. We all know there will not likely ever be another like him and I can't help but wonder how that will affect our future. What have we lost with his death? What would his next invention have been and how would it have changed the world? I guess we'll never know.

While his death has certainly dealt a blow to humanity, we can always use this experience in a more positive way and keep it in our minds as a reminder to take every opportunity we have to say thank you to the people who have had a positive impact on our lives. It may be too late to shake Steve Jobs' hand and tell him "thank you" for everything he has given us but it may not be too late to tell the people in your life. Go shake some hands and show your gratitude before it's too late.
