The Best Car Stereo For iPod
The best iPod compatable car stereos
If you have an iPod, you likely want to listen to it on louder speakers than your iPod headphones. Lucky for you, there are a lot of car stereos that are iPod-ready, that will allow you to listen to your iPod on them while driving. In this hub, I will review some of the different types of stereos, and let you decide which ones you are right for you.
First off, whenever we are looking at something like car stereos, the first thing that we want to do is to ask ourselves what is most important to us. Is it price? Sound quality? Coolness? Once you figure out just what it is that you have as the highest priority, then you can figure out which car stereo is right for you and your iPod.
So let's get started!
Pioneer DEHP4100UB SCD Receiver with USB control
The first car stereo that we will look at is the Pioneer DEHP4100UB SCD Receiver with USB control and OEL. This stereo is one of the more affordable car stereos on our list today. It is an iPod compatible car stereo, and it also is Bluetooth compatible if you are inclined to use a Bluetooth headset.
The sound quality of the Pioneer DEHP4100UB SCD Receiver is absolutely great, especially when you consider the price. The only real drawback of the Pioneer DEHP4100UB SCD Receiver is that it can present some trouble when it comes to navigation of the menus on your iPod, but this is not as big of a deal as many of the problems that the Pioneer DEHP4100UB SCD Receiver does not have, and for the price, you really can't beat it.
I would recommend this iPod adaptable car stereo for those who are on a budget, but who do not want to compromise on sound quality, and who want to be able to play their iPods on their car stereo.
Alpine iDA-X305
Next on our list is the Alpine iDA-X305. This is a bit more expensive than our previous iPod stereo, but is it worth it? In my opinion, yes. The Alpine iDA-X305 features easy navigation, and the sound quality is great.
It is a little bit more expensive than our last model, but You get what your pay for, and this is definitely a high quality car stereo for your iPod. It features an alphabet search, meaning that if you have a large music library, like most people do, then you will be able to skip all the way to whatever letter of the alphabet you are going to go to. This is a vast improvement over iPod compatible car stereos that force you to travel all the way through your library to find the song that you want to find.
In conclusion, get the Alpine iDA-X305 if you don't mind spending a little bit of extra money for features. I would recommend this iPod compatible car stereo to anyone.
Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT
I'll admit, I cheated a bit in this review. The Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT isn't just a stereo system. It is also a GPS navigation system, a Bluetooth platform, and it is capable of DVD and CD playback. Wow! That is an impressive number of features, so you clearly do not just get an iPod capable car stereo with this device, but that is one of the many features that you do get.
Let's talk about some of the features that the Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT has. I would mainly like to focus on the iPod features, but I will discuss other features as well. The first feature that I would like to talk about is the GPS navigation system. I personally have a GPS device, but it is nothing like this one. The Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT allows voice-activated navigation. This means that you can say things like, "find the nearest gas station," and the Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT will actually find the nearest gas station for you. I don't have to tell you just how useful this feature is for when you are out and about while driving.
But you aren't reading this for GPS navigation, you are reading this to learn about the best car stereo for iPods. So what does the Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT have to offer when it comes to iPod playing? Just about everything!
There are touch screen controls for the iPod, and it also displays album art wonderfully. Not only that, but the Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT also features the ability to voice-control your iPod, so you do not have to mess around with the iPod controls while driving and endanger yourself.
A device as fantastic as the Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT does not come cheaply, and that is the main drawback for this device. Although, if you can afford it, then you really cannot find a better car stereo for an iPod, or just about anything else!
