Xbox Live Vision Cam Review

Updated on November 7, 2010
Xbox Live Vision Cam
Xbox Live Vision Cam

For this review, I will concentrate on the two major categories in which this camera falls:

  1. Xbox Live
  2. PC Recording (Skype, Yahoo Messenger, etc...)

As for the first, Xbox Live, the camera is helpful, but not necessary. I have only heard of a handful of games that allow you to utilize it's functions, and on top of that, their in-game functions are far from ideal.

Although the camera is not ideal for hardcore gamers, those of us who like the occasional video chat on Xbox Live would be delighted to know that the camera is everything it's hyped up to be when it comes to chat. Being able to adjust the focus, turn the head of the camera, and the cam having an extra long cord really make it useful when chatting. On a scale from 1 to 10, the quality is about a 7 on Xbox.

The second, and perhaps most important function of this camera (for me), is its ability to function with most PC's. I currently run Windows 7 on my PC, and Windows Vista on my laptop. It works great for both.

When using programs such as Skype, or Yahoo messenger, this camera is ideal because of its flexibility. I have many contacts who use the built in 2.0 megapixel cameras on their laptops, and are very distraught by the notion of having to turn their entire laptop to show me what is going on. With the Xbox Live Vision Cam, you can simply pick it up, and turn it, it's that simple!

Overall, I give this camera a 8.9 out of 10. It works well, and its only flaws are that the quality of the picture could be improved slightly. To get your Xbox Live Vision Camera at a discount, please visit this site. >>>>
