All In One Color Laser Printer is the Best Option for Small and Home Based Business Owner

Updated on January 9, 2013

All in one printer is quite popular nowadays and it is definitely the best choice for small business and home use. Also known as multifunctional printer, this one piece machine can replace the range of office devices for faxing, scanning, copying and printing. Some more expensive models even have email capability, which makes sharing information even faster and more efficient.

With all the different types of print technology that are available in the market today, it could be really hard to decide whether to go with the all in one color laser printer or with the one that utilizes the ink jet technology. Ink jet printers are quite popular among home users while the laser printing models serve more for business purposes.

Moreover, since laser printers are used mainly in business environment, they have been made standardized as multifunctional printer. You can hardly find any new releases that serve printing only. And since laser printers have been standardized as multifunctional machines, this goes the same for the color laser printer. You can only find an all in one color laser printer in the market and not the standalone printer.

  • The purpose of getting your all in one color laser printer - Consider what is your purpose or how you are going to use the multifunctional color laser printer before deciding. Laser printing technology are best utilized for high speed and high volume applications and that's why it has been made the standard printing machine for businesses. The all in one color laser printer can produce quite well quality printing for both color and black and white. However, it might not be a wise choice if you are only utilizing it for printing school work or occasional letter and documents. As said, if you are running a small business or you work from home and which you need to print a high volume of documents, the all in one color laser printer will definitely be the better option compares to an ink jet machine.
  • The operating costs - the cost of an all in one color laser printer is quite expensive. It could easily double or triple the price that you pay for the ink jet version. However, in the long run, it would definitely be the best choice since it cost less to run in high volume printings. You can get an average of 2,500 prints out of a single all in one color laser printer cartridge, whereas you will only get around 250 to 500 prints from an ink jet machine. For some selected models (which are more expensive), you can even run all in one color laser printer for less than half of the ink jet printer; at about 12 cents per page for the laser compares to 20 to 30 cents for the ink jet.
  • Not for photo printing - If you are going to print a lot of photos, then you should be better off with an ink jet printer. All in one color laser printer has been known for not producing high quality of photo printing. Color laser jet printer produces a more flat, non lively and matte look to the color prints. This print quality is fine for documents printing but definitely insufficient for high quality photo prints.
