SEO the war to be #1
SEO the war to be #1

SEO and Google...What a Nightmare

I have been building websites for a long time and the struggle to get to the top has never been easy.

Take for instance the name of my site All In One Computer, it use to be that you could type the in Google and my site would come up first. Well now Dell, Best Buy, Newegg and more are in front of my site, because they use my website name. How can anyone compete with Dell? I am #1 for computer repair in McHenry IL. But I still have competition for that as well.

Here is another one Google changed its algorithms for Meta tags back in 2009, must have missed that one about Descriptions not be a ranking factor, I knew Meta keywords were not being used. Six years later I realized this....how funny. I really use the actual page for ranking thou and always have, might be the reason I missed it.

That being said the rule I have seen consistent with Google is back linking. Get those back links and your website will improve. It is not easy to get high PR sites to back link but if you get links from good pages you will rank better than having none.

I haven't really tested a video on my website but back when Google bought out YouTube I put a video on there for one of my customers. And wouldn't you know with in a week his site was ranked #1 and stayed that way for six months straight. Now of course there are billions of videos so my guess is - it is a little harder to use videos to get better ranking.

How about article writing everyone is saying write an article, well I am not an author and paying someone, well it just isn't in the budget. And how many articles do you have to write for it to hold any weight.

For example this article - well millions of people are writing about SEO, so my little article will sit at the bottom.

How about blogging, tried that as well some do very well but Repairing computers, again I am not a writer so most of what you would see would be technical. And not put together so the average reader would understand it.
