   This is a complex matter. It can be due to various reasons. Sometimes I feel like unfriend silly people who share unwanted stuff. But it all depends

   I unfriend people when I don't care enough about what is going on in their life's to read through all the other crap they post. I've shaved about 50 or so people off my friends list. They are all people that I care if they live or die, but don't care enough that I really want to know what is going on in their day to day life.
   
   There are a few incredibly stupid people that I keep on there for comic relief, however. I'd say at least twice a week when my wife gets home from work she gets to hear "Hey, come look what this idiot posted" If I really had to, I could probably get rid of another 10 or so.

   There is actually a mroe recent trend that's begun to occur recently that utilizes the main purpose of social networking sites, the networking, while downplaying the personal relationship building. Rather than unfriending someone, simply change how much they pop up in your feed. Go to their page and change the settings from "most posts" to "no posts" and you won't see anything from them again.
   
   The reason this trend is becoming popular is for future networking. Say the person you want to unfriend goes on to get a job at a company you would like to work for. If you didn't unfriend them you have an easy connection to get an inside scoop on the jobs offered. Just send the person a quick "how have you been" message and go from there.
   
   Personally, sites like Facebook and Twitter do more to harm personal relationships than they do to build them. Rather than approaching the sites as a primary means of maintaining a relationship with people, use them strictly fr peripheral and passive information and creating a large network that you can work with down the road.

   I have been careful who I add on FB..But have unfriended some for bad nasty stuff and saying the googled me and hacked my account..Any one I unfriend that has threatened me I report them to FB.So far it has been working..I truly have some Amazing friends on there..Di you are one of my Sweet BF..I get game requests from my friends but just block the game but not my friends..May we all have a wonderful time in FB that is what it is for!!
