Question about Google traffic time frames...
I read from seasoned hubbers that it could take 6 months to over a year for Google to start pinging on hubs in the search engines. Can someone explain to me why this is? Thanks!
It can take 6 - 12 months to develop traffic especially substantial on a search engine - Google, Bing, and etc. I am not sure what is meant by pinging.
Google will index the Hub quickly and it will be available for search even if just a title search. Ranking is a variable and will change based upon many factors, (Recommended is researching SEO principals and techniques) yet initially occurs relatively fast. However, as a variable that is why it may take 6 - 12 months to gain noticeable traffic from the search engine. Perhaps I have it wrong and someone can correct as need be.
Thank you for answering tsmog. Yes, "pinging" was an odd word for me to choose. Basically, I just meant why does it take that long of a time for Google to pick up on hubs. You answered my question pretty well. The ranking part is what takes time.....

If a hub is not featured does that mean that it doesn't get any search engine traffic from Google or other search engines?

I only replied to comments on it both 42 hours ago and 22 hours ago (from two different hubbers)....

I was sorry to see that this forum thread was closed to comments by HP:http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/78912#topThere was a lot of good information going back and forth there. It may be that some snipe stuff went on between commenters, but the topic is still valid.I'd like to see it continue.

I've been here over 9 months now and am finally seeing bigger traffic increases coming from Google. I've heard hubbers say it takes a while before you see Google traffic but even after 6 months and 50+ hubs it was incredibly slow (average 30-45 views over a 30 day period). Now I understand the...

This might be a complete co-incidence, but I switched to the new profile a couple of days ago, and today Google is pretending it doesn't know me. Hubs that ranked on the first page for main keyword are not found in the first 10 pages. Even more worrying, I can't find them in Google even...
