Canon Super Zoom Camera: PowerShot SX50 with 50x Optical Zoom
New Canon Super Zoom is World's First 50x Optical Zoom Camera
Want a camera that can get you closer to the action? Then take a look at the new Canon PowerShot SX50. The SX50 is the world's first 50x optical zoom camera, capable of zooming from wide-angle 24mm to an amazing 1200mm (35mm equivalent). The 12.1 MP camera is a big step up from Canon's previous super zoom leader, the SX40, which has a 35x super zoom, and it knocks Nikon's Coolpix P510 out of the top spot as the compact camera with the longest zoom lens. Another Amazing Super Zoom Camera - Nikon P510 with 42x optical zoom
Until Canon came along and knocked them out of position, the Nikon Coolpix P510 had the honor of being the compact camera with the world's longest zoom lens. Though it no longer can make that claim, the P510 does have a larger LCD screen and higher megapixel count than the Canon.
