Is anyone concerned about the end of the Windows XP support, security and updates come tomorrow? This means that hackers will have free range over XP operated devices. I recently switched from a Mac back to a Windows 8 for financial reasons but now I am worried about more security threats as Apple keeps overcoming Microsoft. Are any of you worried? Do any of you have tips for securing Windows devices?
It isn't a big deal, really, unless you still use a windows xp device.
Microsoft have a record second to none for fixing potential security threats and the only reason more are exposed on MS than Apple is more people and businesses use Windows so hackers target it. Well, actually there is one more, which it the open access that MS allow to app developers but that is exactly why most businesses use MS- it is much easier to get software developed that does what you want it too.
Windows 8 is as secure as an operating system can be, but when you consider the many billions of lines of code that go into OS there will always be breaches so the best you can hope for is a responsible developer who pumps resources into patching them up as soon as they are discovered.

Of the two approaches to downgrading Windows, the first is more convenient, as it doesn't require you to wipe your hard drive. You will need a genuine Windows XP installation CD; if all you have is a recovery disc, use the "Start from Scratch" process that follows. Before you proceed, make...
