    To upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7, can I get the "upgrade" version or do I have to buy the...

    I look one place it says the upgrade is fine, I look another it says to get the full version. I speak to Microsoft and they say the upgrade will be fine but the person just sounded like they had a script.

    If it weren't for my wife, I would just install Linux or get a Mac.

    Go to the start menu and search for 'anytime windows upgrade' but i really think you thuld think about it. it is my personal opinion that XP is WAY better than 7. but if you do it i hope you like it

    To upgrade your PC from Windows XP to Windows 7, you'll need to select the Custom option during Windows 7 installation. A custom installation doesn't preserve your programs, files, or settings. It's sometimes called a "clean" installation for that reason.

    All you need is the upgrade version.  Also, it will save all your old Windows XP User content and program files in a file in "C:/Windows.old" folder.
