do you need java inorder to download opera on your lap top?
i just want to download opera on my laptop and i dont know what it takes tpo do so.
I assume that you are referring to the Opera internet browser, rather than in the context of music.
All you need do download Opera is a browser, your PC (assuming it's running windows) should already have a copy on internet explorer.
Open IE and navigate to www.opera.com there is a green button saying 'Download Opera'. Click that, and your PC will download it. IE may required you to say ok to the download first.
Java (in the context of Opera) is a plugin that will allow your Opera browser to display content written using the Java programming language.
No you don't need java on your laptop to download and run opera on it. Go ahead and download software from opera site.

I use FF. Had it a while and only began using it daily after a still-not-removed virus attached itself to IE.I was thinking of alternatives - Google Chrome, Opera. Anyone use browsers other than IE or FF? Likes, dislikes?

Chrome, Opera, IE9- which browser should one prefer for speedy browsing? Now Firefox is an elephant.
