How can my 12 year old son get started with something useful and/or creative on the internet?
Fed up with son plodding around after penguins and chopping/shooting at people in various scenarios. How can he be encouraged and then introduced to creating games himself, earning money or something similar?
Most of the good ways to make money through creating games would require your son to be at least 18. But if you just want to see if he'd like to do that as a hobby, try pointing out the program "game maker" to him. There are a few really dedicated/interesting people who use its creations as their full-time income.
You have to be 18 to have a hubpages account, but on InfoBarrel there's no age limit. Xomba you have to be 13, so he's nearly there.
