difference between i7 and i5?
about latest and high performance also new double and double means Quad processor
The main difference is the socket type most i5's use LGA1156 and i7's LGA1366. i7's also support Intel's turbo charging technology while not all i5's do. i7's have hyper-threading where as not all i5's do. Also i7's use triple channel memory and i5's dual-channel. There are a few other differences but these are the important ones.
The Intel core i7 CPU comes in both the socket 1156 type and 1366 type, the broad difference between them is model number. The i7's that rest in the 1156 socket are indeed only dual channel and there are no 1366 core i5's so James almost has this right. However all of the core i7 series offer Turbo "Boost" which essentially is just a bump to the multiplier forcing the chip to run in a higher clock when only 1-3 of the 4 available physical cores are fully saturated (1-2 in the dual core variants such as the i3 and i5 dual with HT). Both platforms rest on the same memory controller tech and both use a QPI rather than frontside bus and the lack of need to control the extra channel makes the cheaper i5 1156 variant an attractive choice (it also performs better in some cases).
there are many difference between i7 and i5 intel processors.
Even i5 have classified into many types based on socket and cache memory.
i7 has got extreme features such as hyper threading, turbo technology, and type of memory mode available in i7 is triple whereas it is dual in case of intel i5.
Turbo boost technology is available in some models of i5.
But there is no turbo boost in intel i3 which is the lower version of i5.
