I think you can find it out in their website....they have a place there to can click to find out......you can even see it in your computer properties
Microsoft has some resource pages about this. First, start by looking for the label as identified here: http://www.microsoft.com/howtotell/default.aspx.
From there, you can usually find a "genuine" validation program (WGA) that is specific to your operating system. As example, here's the page for Windows XP.

You can check you windows is original or not by using the link http://www.microsoft.com/GENUINE/ where you need to download a small files which check your windows is genuine or not

I thought I was buying the whole Windows 7 from Dell when I wanted to upgrade from Vista. I now find out that this is just an "Upgrade" which means that Vista is still on my hard drive, just with Windows 7...
