Will Nvidia survive in 2011 against AMD's monster card Barts PRO , cayman and Antilles?
AMD has some confidential news officially too released , at this stage sure AMD 6000 series cards will be out in a week or two , Nvidia two accepted their defeat this time due to their late in release of Directx11 video cards, Moreover AMD has announced they have 90% market share in Directx 11 Cards
They'll survive for a couple of years at least. If they don't come up with something good soon though, it's going to get dicey.
AMD buying out ATI really propelled them into the lead. I like what they've done and want to see more. But at the same time, the competition needs to stay active to keep prices down.
NVIDIA is still a valid and solid bet in the GPU industry. They're leaders in CUDA and GPUs being used for general processing.
Not to mention their Tegra chipset, the fact their stuff is used in Apple, among other PC manufacturers.
They also hold patents on the PhysX engine, which is basically dedicated hardware level physics APIs to offload stuff from the GPU and enhance the capabilities of programmers.
NVIDIA is more poised to tackle the handheld sector than ATI, and they're using this to their advantage.
