The printer is hooked up correctly however when i print the prints come out blank
Maybe the printer doesn't have any ink or toner left. If your printer can print a self test page, you should be able to figure out what's wrong if there's ink in the printer.
I would also check to make sure the drivers are installed correctly, the best way to check and see if it's the toner as oppose to the printer set up, is just to do a regular copy from the document feeder considering that it is not connected to the drivers.

When you clean the print heads on your printer, where does the ink go?It says on the printer that it will use a lot of ink. To my knowledge, there is no 'well' of ink that needs dumping so where does the ink go to?
